In honor of March 8, the capital has prepared many festive events in city parks. Women can enjoy make-up master classes, educational excursions, a flower run and concerts. Also, all women are offered to watch good old movies for free.

In the capital of Russia, according to tradition, March 8 is celebrated on a grand scale. There are a large number of events held in the city center and in all the large parks. On this spring holiday, all women are congratulated on the streets by men.

For those women who like to walk in Gorky Park, a special program with free excursions has been prepared. Guests will be taken around the Neskuchny Garden and told the love story of famous people.

In Tsaritsyno you will be able to see how different varieties of tulips grow. Park staff will tell guests about the meaning of each flower. It will also be possible to take part in various excursions.

What events are worth going to on March 8, 2018 in Moscow?

Women of the capital will be congratulated in other parks and just on the streets. According to tradition, young activists buy a huge amount of flowers (mostly tulips), which they give to women on the street, congratulating them on the spring holiday.

An almost similar event will be held in Fili Park, only men will have to cover a two-kilometer distance with a bouquet of flowers. Along the way, runners will have to give one flower to the women they meet along the way. The marathon will take place at 14:00 and end at 15:00 with a festive concert.

Festive photo zones for women and their companions will be organized in almost all capital parks. It will be possible to take pictures against the backdrop of fresh flowers; for example, on Poklonnaya Hill they will erect a wall of roses and tulips two meters high.

It is important to note that buying flowers on March 8 for the woman you love will be problematic. As practice shows, tulips and roses are sold out already on March 7 in the evening. The capital's flower markets will be open all night and all day in order to sell as many flowers as possible.

By the way, on March 8, not only men, but also women buy flowers to congratulate their mothers, sisters and girlfriends on the holiday.

Other events in Moscow on March 8

Many cinemas invite women to free screenings of interesting films that were filmed in the USSR. Thus, at the Beryozka cinema you can see the film “The Most Charming and Attractive”, and at the Polet cinema they will show “Love and Doves”.

Many events are also planned at VDNKh in honor of the spring holiday. The pavilions will host exhibitions and films. Violinist Anton Gerasimov will perform in the historical park with a special program in honor of the holiday of all women.

Moscow will host events dedicated to World Kidney Day

Every year, Kidney Day is dedicated to one of the key problems associated with kidney diseases with the aim of uniting the efforts of the government, healthcare workers and the population to solve them. In 2018, World Kidney Day is celebrated on March 8th with the theme “Kidneys and Women’s Health”.

As part of the Campaign in honor of World Kidney Day, the Moscow Department of Health organized a number of preventive events.

March 7, 2018 an informational and preventive event “Healthy Kidney Day” will be held at the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution “City Clinical Hospital No. 52 of the Department of Health”:

The event will include a race at distances of 1 and 3 km. Before the start, fitness trainers will conduct a professional warm-up, and at the end of the race, all participants will be awarded commemorative medals and souvenirs from the co-organizers and partners of the event. There will be outdoor tents in the park, where race participants will be able to get advice from doctors from City Clinical Hospital No. 52, learn about the rules of a healthy lifestyle, learn how to cook healthy food and take part in competitions and master classes.

For example, an excursion marathon will take place in Gorky Park. From 11:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00 there will be an excursion “Women's duels, balls and entertainment of the inhabitants of Neskuchny Garden”, which will tell about the rich noble life in Neskuchny Garden two centuries ago: balls, masquerades, horse racing, horse carousels, greyhound racing and dueling.
It was clarified that from 12:30 to 14:30 there will be an excursion “14 stories of love” - about the stories that took place on the territory of Gorky Park: Alexander Pushkin and Natalya Goncharova, Catherine the Second and her favorite Grigory Orlov, Nicholas the First and his wife Alexandra Fedorovna.
Muzeon Park from 13:00 to 14:00 will conduct an excursion “Female images in monumental sculpture,” which will talk about how the female image was formed throughout Soviet history and “how this was reflected in the monumental sculpture of the era.” Admission will be free with prior registration.
There will be a bright cubic installation in Sokolnichesky Park, against which guests will be able to take photographs. Against the background of the installation, it will also be possible to record 15-second videos with congratulations, after posting which on social networks with special ones you can receive a souvenir. At 12:00 the “sports-flower” quest will begin, during which you need to look for flowers in the park.
In the Hermitage Garden, International Women's Day will be dedicated to beauty. Throughout the park, master classes will be held on creating a romantic look, selecting and creating accessories; in a mobile hairdressing salon, stylists will do hairstyles and decorate hair with flowers.
In Vorontsovsky Park, 3 thousand tulips will be distributed to visitors. There will also be competitions for the best declaration of love to wives, mothers and grandmothers, and musicians will perform.
The fitness area near the main stage will be prepared by Perovsky Park. Visitors can expect lectures on psychology, a master class on women's self-defense, and a jazz concert.
A “Flower Run” will be organized in Fili Park, where men must run 2 km with bouquets of tulips in their hands. The goal of the race is to give flowers to every representative of the fair sex who meets along the way. Start at the main entrance at 12:00.
Decorative figures will be installed on the territory of Kuzminki to form a flower field. On the “petals”, using paints, felt-tip pens, pencils, colored paper, ribbons, plasticine and other creative materials, children will be able to make cards for their mothers.
In Lianozovsky Park, the film “The Most Charming and Attractive” will be shown on the big screen; in the Bauman Garden, a jazz evening will be held at the “Merkato” cafe, and visitors will be treated to a free drink.
